The Lord has not left you without a guardian redeemer (Ruth 4q)

Ruth 4:1-22
Key Verse 14-15
1         [1-4b] When and where did Boaz go (1; 3:13a)?  Why (3:13,18)? What did he say to the guardian-redeemer (2b-4b)? In what setting (2a)?
2         [4c-8] What did the guardian-redeemer decide (4c)? What’s the implication of this decision (5)? How did he change his decision (6a)? Why(6a)? How firm was his decision (6b-8)? Discuss the risk of redeeming (Lev 25:25-28-30).
3         [9-10] To whom and what did Boaz announce (9)? What was the reason for his decision (10a)? Discuss the risks that Boaz took, and the reason why Boaz carried out this transaction in this legal setting (4a, 9; Cf. 3:11b-12, 13b)?
4         [11-12] How did the elders and all the people bless Naomi and Boaz (11,12)? Discuss the impact of Boaz’s decision on the town’s people and their perspective.
5         [13-17] When Boaz took Ruth as his wife, what happened (13)?  What did the women come to understand through the birth of the child (14a)? What’s their prayer (14b-15)? Discuss what might be the impact of the birth of Obed for Naomi. When Naomi cared for the child, what did the women named him and why (16-17; Obed means ‘servant’; a short form of Obadiah)?
6         [18-22] Discuss the significance of the faiths of Naomi, Ruth, and Boaz on the history following them and God’s role and purpose in it. Discuss what this genealogy reveals particularly in regard to the way how God keeps his promise of salvation (Cf. 1 Chr 2:5-15; Mat 1:3-6; Luke 3:31-33).
