1. [26:1-65] How were they to conduct this census (1-2)? Why (26:2, 53-54)? What was the census’ result (26:3-52, 64-65)? Compare this with the first census taken at the beginning of Israel’s journey (Numbers 1:1-46).
2. [27:1-11] Who was Zelophehad and what did his daughters ask Moses for (27:1-4; ref. 26:33)? What answer did God give (5-11)? Why (ref. Genesis 17:7-8; 48:4)?
3. [27:12-23] What did God tell Moses to do (27:12)? After that, what would happen to him (13)? Why (14)? What concern did Moses raise (15-17)? What was God’s direction, concerning the replacement of Moses’ leadership (18-21)?
4. Discuss who was allowed to enter the Promised Land (cf. 14:20-24). Also discuss who would inherit the land of God’s blessing (ref 27:5-11; Genesis 17:7-8). Find the significance of these two groups.
5. [28:1-29:40] What command did God give to Israel (28:1-2)? Find when Israel was to present offerings to the Lord and what festivals they were to celebrate (ch 28-29). When does one’s vow stand as mandatory before the Lord (30:1-16)?

3. [25-54] What was God’s command about how Israel was to divide their spoils (25-31)? What were the amounts of the possessions left over after the soldiers had divided them among the people (32-47)? What did the officers offer to God (48-54)? Why?
4. [32:1-15] What request did the Reubenites and Gadites make to Moses and why (32:1-5)? What were Moses’ concerns and warning to them (6-15)?
5. [16-32] What vow did these two tribes make (16-19)? How did Moses concede and under what conditions and warning (20-24)? What order did Moses give to Eleazar and Joshua (28-30)? Why? How did the Gadites and Reubenites confirm their vow (25-27; 31-32)?

3. [34:1-29] How was the land to be divided among them (33:54; 2, 13-14)? What would be the boundaries of the land that they would permanently possess (3-12)? Who was to assign the land to each tribe (16-18)?
