The Law will remain as a witness against you (Deut 31q)

Deut 31:1-30
Key Verse 19, 26;
1.       [1-8] Why could Moses not lead Israel anymore (2; Ref Deut 3:21-29; 29:5; Further reading: Num 20:12; 27:12-14, 18; Cf. Gen 6:3)? What was the primary concern in losing Moses as their leader (6)? How would his leadership be replaced (3-5)? How does Moses hand the leadership over to Joshua? (7-8) Discuss what the primary concerns in transferring the leadership are in this passage.
2.       [9-13] What did the Moses do with ‘this Law’ (9; Exo 30:6)? What did he command them to do with the Law (10-12)? Why (13)?
3.       [14-18] What did God direct Moses to do (14a)? Where (14b), how (15), and with what message (16-18) did God commission Joshua? Discuss the importance of this message to Moses as well as to Joshua.
4.       [19-23] What did God tell Moses and Joshua to do (19)? Why (20)?  For what purpose (19b, 21-22)? What command did God give to Joshua (23)? Discuss the significance of this command in view of v20. (Ref. 7, 8)

5.       [24-30] What did Moses command the Levites to do (25-26a; Ref. 9; Cf. 21)? Why (26b-29; Cf. Exo 32:1-4)? Discuss its significances in view of its place, availability, and responsibility. Also, discuss how the three things, ‘stiff-necked nature’ (Exo 32:9;33:3-5; 34:9; Deut 9:6; 10:16; 31:27), the Law, and rebellion, relate each other in the life of Israel as well as in yours (Cf. 1 Cor 9:27 NAS).
