Because the message of the cross is the power of God (Rom 1aq)

Rom 1:1-17
Key verse 16
1.         [1-5] How did Paul introduce himself to the believers in Rome (1)? Discuss the meaning of each and their significances for his life. What is the gospel (2-4)? What did we receive through the gospel (5)? Discuss how grace and apostleship are interrelated for its purpose.
2.         [6- 7] According to Paul, what and who are the recipient of this letter (6-7a)? What is his prayer for them (7b)? Discuss the origin and purpose of the grace and apostleship for Paul, and the grace and peace for the believers in Rome.
3.         [8-15] What was Paul thankful for (8) and why (9)? For what has he been praying (10)? Why (11-12)?  Discuss when and how he came up with such longing (Ref. Acts 19:19-21; Cf. 20:3-the time he wrote this letter) and how intense it was (13).  What is it in its essence (14-15; Ref 5)?
4.         [16-17] What is the source of such energy (16a)? What are the two things that built Paul’s confidence and pride in the Gospel (16b-17a)? How do the confidence and pride come to the believers (17b)? Discuss what the phrase “the righteous will live by faith” implies to our lives.
