3.      [5-7] What is their first mistake? (5-6) Based on those things they forget, what is evident about God and His word? (7)
4.      [8-10] What is their second mistake? (8) What does it mean?  What does this prove? (9a) What was the purpose of taking his time in keeping promise? (9b) How will the day of the Lord will come? (10a) How will it be? (10b, cf. 7) Why? (Rom 8:22-23;Rom 3:19; 2 Peter 2:20; Rev 21:5; Gen 3:17b; 2 Cor 5:2)
5.      [11-13] In light of this, what kind of people ought we to be? (11-12) What is our glorious hope? (13; 1Co 15:51-52; 2 Cor 5:2; Rev 21:1-4; 22:12-14)

6.      [14-18] With this hope, what must we do? (14) What does it mean to be at peace with him? (cf. Phil 3:9; 2 Cor 5:10) See what Paul said about God’s patience? (15-16; Ro 2:4-5; 1Ti 2:3-4) Discuss its significance for us. Accepting this warning, what must believers do? (17-18)
