Know the scoffers of the grace of God (Jude q)


Jude 1-25
Key verse 18 They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires."
1.                   [1-2] Who is Jude (1a)? How does he call the receivers of this letter (1b)? 
2.                   [3-4] What prompted him to write this time (3a)? Discuss what the faith he meant (ref. Gal 1:23).  For what purpose (3b; Ref. 20-23)?  About whom (4a)? What are the key characteristics of them? Discuss why it is felt urgent for him to write (ref. 4b-7).
3.                   [5-7] What does he remind them of (5; Ref. 4a)?  Whom does he further compare them to (6-7)?  In what aspect? What’s Jude’s implication?
4.                   [8-10] What are the source of the strength, their lifestyle, or ways of life of the ungodly infiltrators (8)? What is the prominent character of these people (9-10)?
5.                   [11-13] Whose are their behavior like (11)? What are they like in the believers’ love feasts (12-13; Ref Nas)? How? Discuss how they spoil or mistaken or misconstrue the love of Christ. What will be their ending?
6.                   [14-15] According to the prophecy of Enoch, with whom will the Lord come to judge and on what (14-15)? What are the details of ‘ungodly acts of these people (16)?
7.                   [17-23] What warning did the apostles give to the believers concerning such people (17-18; Ref. 2Pet 3:3)? According to the warning, what were the distinctive marks of “the scoffers” (19)? How should the believers be different in inward life (20-21) and in their relationship with others (22-23)?

8.                   [24-25] In his benediction, how does he recognize and honor Jesus and God (24-25; ref. 1-2). Discuss the implication of such understanding of Jesus and Father God for our lives particularly in our understanding and handling of the abuser of the grace of God in Jesus.
